Well, I'm finally sinking back into my normal routine. I had a great time in North Carolina. It's an amazingly beautiful state full of trees and forests and clean air. I hardly coughed at all while I was there, but the moment I landed back home my smog allergies returned in force. The UNC campus was really awesome. I liked the school, but I'm still not sure if I want to move all the way to NC. Out-of-state tuition is really expensive so that's going to be a big issue.

I got to meet my friend Andrew while I was there. Had to drive about 20 miles from where we were staying to see a movie, but it was worth it. We've become good friends over the past few months and it was nice to finally be able to put a face to the voice. The ham radio scene in NC was nice as well and the people out there were very friendly and say "y'all" a lot. I definitely plan on returning to NC and exploring some more of the state with him.

One regret I have is not taking enough photos. I always do that when I go on vacation. I make photography my lowest priority and then regret not recording the trip when I get back. But--as I said--there's always next time. I'm hoping that Andrew will visit L.A. one of these days so I can show him around. NC was a 180 degrees from what Los Angeles is, it was really a great experience. The thing I disliked most about the state was their confusing highway system. As one gentleman from Texas said to me at the airport, "You'd have to be an idiot to get lost in Los Angeles." In NC, highways have multiple names even though they're the same route! I'll scan a map of the area tomorrow so you can see what I mean.

Well, I should head off to bed. When I get home from work tomorrow I think I'll sit down and actually record the trip in detail and then post it in the writings section of the site. I better do that before the week is out otherwise the memories will start to fade. I'm really glad that I went with my sister, Rachel. Not since she used to live at home with us did I spend this much time with her. She is so fun to travel with. Even though the trip only lasted four days, it was a great time and well worth every cent. I love my sister. :)
