"Yeah, I kind of hope the world ends now: penis buildings and NASCAR cops...yup that's pretty much it." -Nicole

In reference to this and >this.

So true. So true.

Today is National Pie Day!

Can you believe it? Only seven days left until I get to see my Nicole! (Yeah, I know you probably aren't interested but I'm going to talk about it anyway because this is MY site; if you've got a problem with that then go build your own :-P). It's funny how the shorter the countdown gets the longer it seems. We first planned this trip some 70 days or so in advance and although the number was large for some reason it wasn't all that unbearable. The last week, however, brings with it a completely different story. If you haven't ever been separated from the one you love for any length of time you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Oh, and I don't mean like a weekend or even a week apart...that's amateur night! I'm talking about the real thing...I'm talking about a year plus, so if any of you have ever experienced that I'm sure you know what I'm trying to explain. I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through these next few days; it's so hard. Every day I miss her even more and every night I want to hold her even closer. There is nothing harder than reaching for someone while you're half asleep only to find that they aren't there. She is the world to me and I'm proud to tell anyone who can stand to listen how much she means to me and how I miss her. I guess for the time being I'll just have to be with her in my dreams, which is where I'm headed now...

Out of the tree of life, I just picked me a plum
You came along and everything started to hum
Still it's a real good bet, the best is yet to come

The best is yet to come, and won't that be fine
You think you've seen the sun, but you ain't seen it shine

Wait till the warm-up is underway
Wait till out lips have met
Wait till you see that sunshine day
You ain't seen nothin' yet

The best is yet to come, and won't that be fine
The best is yet to come, come the day that your mine

Come the day that your mine
I'm gonna teach you to fly
We've only tasted the wine
We're gonna drain that cup dry

Wait till your charms are right, for the arms to surround
You think you've flown before, but you ain't left the ground

Wait till you're locked in my embrace
Wait till I hold you near
Wait till you see that sunshine place
There ain't nothin' like it here

The best is yet to come, and won't that be fine
The best is yet to come, come the day that your mine

----
Yup, that pretty much sums it up. :)

Why do robins sing in December,
Long before the springtime is due?
And even though it‘s snowing
Violets are growing,
I know why and so do you...

Why do breezes sigh ev’ry evening,
Whispering your name as they do?
And why have I the feeling stars are on my ceiling?
I know why and so do you...

When you smile at me
I hear gypsy violins
When you dance with me
I’m in heaven when the music begins...

I can see the sun when it’s raining
Hiding ev’ry cloud from my view
And why do I see rainbows when you‘re in my arms?
I know why and so do you

:)

I apologize to all of those who tried to access sites hosted on the intd.net domain today. It seems the server decided to go down for no reason earlier this afternoon and I didn't have a chance to get it back up and running until just a few moments ago.

Today is pay day (hopefully) and I have decided that from now on I am going to start saving money. Tomorrow morning I'm opening up a savings account and I will use it! When I look at my bank account it makes me absolutely sick; I make a decent living yet I never have anything to spare. I can't even figure out what I spend it on! I guess all those little charges here and there add up at the end of the month. Now I'm not saying I'm going to become so tight that I'll squeak when I walk, but I guess I have been a little too free with my funds lately. So, from now on I'm going to start saving and placing limits on my own spending. Let's see how long this lasts...

What was I thinking when I booked my original trip to NY? Why was I going to go back home on the 8th...a Saturday. Seriously, who does that? So for the past day I've been modifying and rearranging my flight schedule. As of last night, my trip went from spanning the 30th of this month through the 8th of February to the 30th through the 10th. Well, then we got to thinking...it's a real shame that I'm not going to be there for Valentine's Day. Yup, that's right...I decided to try and change my itinerary yet again.

So this morning I gave Delta a call and asked if they had any returning flights available for Valentine's Day weekend. Well, it turned out that they didn't and it would cost me $1,100.00 to book a non-SkyMiles one-way flight!!! As the guy on the phone said, it would be cheaper to just buy a separate round-trip ticket and "miss" one direction. So I decided to give jetBlue a try Turns out, instead of an $1,100.00 one-way ticket, jetBlue only charges $195. Quite a difference, I must say. So now the plan is to "miss" my Feb 10th return flight and take the one-way jetBlue flight home on February 16. So it'll cost me a bit more, but like I said previously...it's definitely worth it. I just wonder how my boss is gonna like this. ;) And--of course--there's also the issue of missing the first week of my EMT-B class, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll just read my textbook while I'm in NY.

Don't you feel so much more intelligent now that I've told you all of this?

So, it seems I'm allergic to penicillin...isn't that splendid? Mmm for being allergic to what's in most medications. I rock!!!! Aren't you so glad I shared that? Wee for posting personal information for all to see.

Well, it's been a while since I rambled and I guess I really haven't had much to talk about lately. Nothing really exciting happens in my life I guess. Last week was pretty crappy; I got sick and had to go on medication (which I found out that I'm allergic to as stated above). My boss gave me shit for calling in sick for TWO DAYS and then a ton of projects were dumped into my lap. Then, to top things off, some psychopath at work wants to kill me (seriously). So that's fun...I mean, that's funny. I really need a vacation.

Speaking of vacations, less than 15 days until I get to see Nicole!!!!! I am so excited, you don't even know. I've been thinking about this trip every day since I planned it and what seemed so far away a while ago is now almost here. The best part is, I realized (with Nicole's help) that I don't need to be home as soon as I had planned so I gave Delta a call this afternoon and extended my trip by a couple days. Even though Delta's planes are cramped I must say that they rock! They didn't charge me anything for modifying my trip; apparently if you don't change where you're going and only the date/time then there's no change fee. Freakin 'awesome! Of course, even if they wanted to charge me another $200 I would have paid because it's worth any amount to spend even an extra hour with her. It's been over a year since I've seen her and I can't even put into words how much I miss her.

The weather still sucks here. Yup, that's right...it's January 15 and 78 degrees out. Absolutely disgusting. It's no wonder I can't get over this cold (or whatever it is I have)...it's generally 80 degrees outside during the day and then it dips down into the 30s at night. Then the weather will randomly decide to go back to being mild (low 60s) and sometimes it'll even decide to rain a little...of course, after a day or two of that it goes back to being 80. Southern California sucks (but not as much as New Jersey) ;)

Time to get back to work. So much to do and so little time to do it in, but if I can finish everything major up before I leave in two weeks then my boss says I can take as much time off as I want (and I won't have to have that gnawing feeling of unfinished business while I'm away trying to enjoy life). For now, it's back to the grind...

I really hate the lack of seasons in Los Angeles. It's January and what would you guess the temperature is outside? 80 degrees! That's right folks, it's 80 freakin' degrees out today! What is up with that!? All throughout December the media was warning us about "the great and powerful El Nino" and the wrath that it was about to unleash on us. So what did we get from that? Three mediocre, disappointing "storms" that each lasted all of half a day. So just as the weather seemed to finally cool off (it dipped down into the 60s ooooh), New Year's rolls around and wham; it's summer in January. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? Well, I guess I'm going to get all the cold I can handle when I go back east at the end of the month. Mmm...25-degree weather. Maybe I shouldn't be complaining? Eh, the weather here sucks...I don't care what anybody says. For now, I want my winter...
