It's been quite a while since I updated my site with any content of substance so I figured it was probably time to put some new thoughts down. A lot has been going on over here the past few weeks. For starters, it's now official that I will be moving to New York by this July. Everything's pretty much in order though I still have a few loose ends to tie up before I make the actual move. In the meantime, I've begun training for my EMT certificate which I will have by the middle of June. Once I get my EMT-B certification here in Los Angeles I'll submit it to New York State for reciprocity. I'm presently trying to line up an EMT job in Monroe County or Rochester so that I can begin working as soon as I move and fulfill my work-experience requirement for paramedic school.
Personally, the past couple weeks have been pretty difficult. I've really been missing Nicole a lot lately--especially over the past couple of days--and it's been hard to keep from sulking too much. I've found that going to the gym (or at least working out for a while at home) helps a lot....mmm endorphins. I really can't wait to see her again. :)
That's pretty much it...not too much of interest going on personally with me. Work and school, that pretty much sums things up right about now. I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to July.
And now for something completely different...
War fever has hit the nation and with it an thick goo of spin, propaganda, and stupidity is oozing over us much like Canadian maple syrup. Frankly, as important as the subject is, I don't have the energy or the inclination to discuss it today. All I know is that despite both sides having valid points, ultimately we need to take care of business and stop whining. In fact, the whole world says its over oil and that the United States is imperialist so I think we should take over Iraq and while we're at it lets just occupy Venezuela. We're already viewed as imperialists so we might as well just go for the gusto.
Mmm...controversial.
